In the days of Mad Men, men's adventure magazines thrived. With titles like Stag, Male, For Men Only, and Man's Conquest, their crazy covers and even crazier stories were distinctly American. Bruce Minney spent 20 years working as an illustrator for men's adventure magazines painting beautiful women, gorillas, lions, tigers, bears, elephants, alligators, headhunters, Nazis, airplanes, aircraft carriers, tanks, guns, and lots of explosions but hardly anyone knows who he is.

I have a copy of your book - Bruce Minney: The Man who Painted Everything and it's great! Thanks for publishing it. I mainly collect paperbacks and I have only a couple with Bruce's great artwork. However, I came across a Midwood Book: F210 "Intimate Nurse" by Kimberly Kemp which has a signature that may be Bruce's. I'd be happy to email you a scan of the cover if you're interested.

Thank you. Bruce did a number of paperbacks for Midwood in the late 50s and early 60s. We have a few. I found the book you mentioned through Google. I'll have to blow it up to look at the signature. Thanks for the offer.
ReplyDeleteWhere can i view more covers? I loved the work he did.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Bruce Minney Facebook page that includes more of his work than is posted on this blog. Check it out.
